China's research results on distributed generation and microgrids

Compared with developed countries, China’s research on distributed generation and microgrid started relatively late. At present, electric power companies, many universities and research structures are paying attention to this field, and under the support of the national “973” and “863” programs, some research work has been carried out in this field, and some staged research results have also been achieved.

Research results:

1) Tianjin University. Tianjin University is one of the earliest universities in China to carry out research on distributed power generation and microgrid technology, focusing on research on microgrid modeling and microgrid control methods. At present, Professor Wang Chengshan of Tianjin University, as the chief scientist, has undertaken the national “973” science and technology project “Basic Research on Distributed Generation and Energy Supply System”. The connected main power grid is the research object, with the goal of ensuring the safe, stable, economical and efficient operation of the microgrid and the main grid, focusing on the scientific problem of “complex dynamic behavior of high-penetration microgrid and safe and efficient operation theory”. Work.

2) Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The project “Research on Microgrid Technology of Distributed Energy System” of the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was funded by the “863” Program. Driven by this, the research on distributed generation system and microgrid technology was carried out. The main work includes mathematical modeling and calculation of microgrid. Analysis, control and management strategy of autonomous operation of microgrid, trial production of ARM10-based distributed power data acquisition and management terminal system, and development of microgrid energy management software.

Microgrid Modeling

3) State Grid Corporation. State Grid Corporation of China has been conducting research on microgrid-related technologies since 2009, and has formulated a research framework for key technologies of microgrids. “Microgrid Protection and Grounding Technology Research” and other topics. At the same time, since 2010, the State Grid Corporation of China has carried out the construction of a number of microgrid pilot projects in combination with the advancement of the construction of a strong and smart grid.

4) Other. Some other scientific research institutions in China, such as Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Hefei University of Technology, etc., have also carried out microgrid-related technical research, mainly focusing on basic theories such as models and control strategies, as well as the construction of experimental platforms.
